I think in the early days of Anglia, the 2100 Norwich Thorpe to Liverpool Street was a 150, i think it started from Sheringham ? , I remember one of the Norwich station staff, used to go though the train to do pick up the litter, I remember he told me once (or more time), that he should not be doing this, as customer was still on the train.
I think the DMU was used for the first train from Liverpool Street to Norwich, but as I was just doing night shift then (good old Anglia Railway forced the train cleaner to do only night shifts), I never seen it come back.

I was going to put this comment about a photo of a Class 150 DMU at Liverpool Street, on the 2130 Liverpool Street, london to Norwich thorpe service, but then changed my mind, but did not want to lose it, so put it here.

It was another normal day, the train service seem quite good today.
I was not very about being back at work & felt a bit strange all day.
After, I went to Great Yarmouth.

I took some photo of a First Group 170309 at ipswich station & the new painted LHCS, in the new National Express.

Well, may be i am going to talk about my own hygiene ?
I think or felt when growing up, in the 70's & 80's, that men mostly smell like they worked, perfume was just for females (or men who was seen as 'gay' ? 'smells like a profs parlor '? something that said by some older men, to anyone who put anything with perfume on).

Now days, you can get men version of a lot of female perfume (but it mostly will not have that on it, still).
In the old days, with out hot water on tap, had to get a bath in the living room (or some other room) & fill it, not going to do that, many time, with working longer hours.
even washing cloths, I can just put my cloth in the washing machine, then after it done, dryer, can be done in two to three hours, with very little work from me.
Very easy & cheap, with only a little about of work.

About ten years ago, I used to shower daily at work, after the end of the shift, which seem ok, I would use the cheap shop at work, deodorant , but I would not do too much, plus I wear cloth at work for a lot longer with out washing (well, when I was at Grove Walk, my dad used to do all the washing, even when we had lodgers, he used to do there washing, they used to moan a lot about it, no being good , well they could of done it them self, but was too lazy, but I can not moan too much because so was I).

Now days, I have a bath everyday (help to live alone), I use shower gel (soap), face scrub, anti dandruff shampoo, after I use Aloe Vera body lotion (some time others, of the same range, also got hand soap in this range), M&S Woodspice body splash.
PreShave, aftershave (boots essentials only £1 for 150ml bottle), I also use other thing, like LACOSTE eau de toilette pour homme, Joop, Joop Jump, A*Men (ANGEL men versions, i think it used to called Angel too, or did I get the female version ? ).

Old Spice, Brut, Denim (or was that 'Blue Denim ? ) & some other mens after shave, there did not seem to be much around for men, & I do not think there was any versions of female perfume, for men.
Now, most places have a mens section of perfume (but mostly do not have that on the bottle of course).

I do not think I made much sense in this post, I did think about it first, when I was in the bath, but it has not come out very well.
still, my hygiene is very much better, than it was, in the 90's.

I also carry around with me, a bottle of 'Hand Hygiene Gel' / Instant Hand Sanitiser, so I can 'clean' my hand, if I can not get to soap or water (also when at work, carry in my bag, soap / hand moisturizing lotion & mouth spray to freshen breath), something I never used to do.
So it more easy to keep clean at work.
I use the hand sanitiser a lot at work, when I cleaning moving trains.

Arthur C. Clarke - Wikipedia

The Arthur c. Clarke Foundation

I got up very early today, my cats helped a little in that,
The £800M Railway Station was on BBC 1 NI (Virgin NTL 863) at 0245 to 0315 hours.

We join the project late - just as Alastair is discovering problems he noticed six months earlier haven't been corrected. While the engineers - led by bosses Allie MacAdam and Clare Carr - are preoccupied with bringing the project in on time and budget (and pocketing generous bonuses for so doing), Alastair is distraught.

This is the country's biggest railway project in 100 years and he's devastated that quality has been sacrificed for the sake of targets. He worries about what will become of this great project in 10 to 15 years when the cut corners will look jaded. "Nobody will want to do it again so it will just look like a sad little station," he says.

During one astonishing phone call Alastair has to hang up because he's in tears. He talks of resigning - even of suicide.

Shows like Grand Designs have made us pretty immune to construction cock-ups and you may agree with Carr when she accuses him of living in cloud-cuckoo land. But if £800million can't buy perfection then I'd want to know why.

With episode two screened tomorrow at the same time, it's a real eye-opener of a series.

Quote from link above.

My cats have spend most of last week & this, with me, in the bedroom, watching DVD's with me, even Jaguar, but sometimes it better when he in the main room.
So today feel a bit strange, getting up this early, when last week I was getting up, mostly in the afternoon or even, the evening, sometimes as late as 2000 one day i think ?
Well, I say get up, I was already awake, but just watched DVD's in bed, it stops me spending so much on food or drinking, wasting too much on heating.
But i still use electric, watching DVD's, I find it a bit too hard just watching the walls.

I got a bottle of Blue Energy eau de toilette (it was in the men section ? ), for £9:95, but got it free with two other item, I got as gifts from Marks & Spencer Norwich.
Strange how there is men & womens perfume (but never call it that for men ? ), still a little that men need to smell of sweat (even just washing they hand after going to the toilet, is too much for most men).
Also female perfume is very much stronger than mens (or they put a lot more on), as when your near a female going out (or some other times), you can smell the very strong perfume.

Sniffing around for "types of perfume" turned up the sweet smell of eau de toilette and eau de parfum, as well as other versions of scented luxury.

Most perfumes are complex combinations of natural materials, such as essential oils from plants, and synthetic products that increase the lasting power and heighten the smell. Alcohol is used as a liquid base for perfume, and the ratio of alcohol to scented perfume concentrates determines what the final concoction is labeled.

From highest concentration to least, the different forms of perfume are:

  • Perfume, also called extract or extrait perfume, can include 15-40% perfume concentrates. This is the purest form of scented product and is the most expensive as a result.

  • Eau de parfum contains about 7-15% perfume concentrates. This is the most popular and common form of perfume. It provides a long-lasting fragrance and generally doesn't cost as much as extract perfume.

  • Eau de toilette has around 1-6% perfume concentrates. This makes for a light scent that doesn't linger as long as the more intense versions. It was originally intended to be a refreshing body splash to help people wake up in the morning.

  • Eau de cologne is sometimes used interchangeably with the term eau de toilette. However, the concoction began as the name of a light, fresh fragrance mixed with citrus oils and was made popular by Napoleon. Some perfumers today have a version of this called eau fraiche.

While these are the main classes of perfume, other products are frequently scented with perfume concentrates too. Lotions, creams, powders, body splashes, aftershaves, soaps, and other cosmetic products may contain variable (though usually small) amounts of fragrance.

Now that you have your scents straight, we're sure you'll smell like a rose all day!
