I did aim to go to Sheffield, but the train was a little delay, and I left it early, at Chesterfield, then went to Derby, but got a train to Nottingham, I did hope to use some Castle Rock pub, but I seen 810006 on a platform, and went to Leicester, not been there since, many years, may be late 1990's, when I went to watch Forest play the Foxes, and I think I walk to the old stadium, as I nearly went in to the other Football stadium, that was playing that day, Leicester Tigers I think ?
but I walk on, to Filbert Street stadium, with many police, around it, more controlled, I do not think I been back since, I did like the ground, the wood seats ? I seem to remember ? or might of got that mixed up,
Well now got a new stadium , that I never been to, the station look great, free magazines,
I did then go to Ely, as by then, I did know Derby County was playing at Norwich City, Carrow Road, it was one reason I came back via Leicester , than on East Midlands, Sheffield via Nottingham, to Norwich, and also I wanted to go places, as well, I noticed, when some Rams fans, was talking about Norwich ? and I thought, they go to Nottingham , and use EMR services, then ?
So went another way, and as I seen 810006, that was another reason to do so ?
If everything was perfect, I would of got off at March, to spend more time there, but that complex getting back to Norwich, so got off at Ely, not great for pubs,
Well need a bit of a walk, and it was starting I wanted to get home, I even got a Greater Anglia train to Norwich, that was busy, but easy to get a seat ?
I got back before kick off, and walk, here to the Glasshouse, now I better walk home soon, silly me

Manufactured by Hitachi at Newton Aycliffe, these units were delayed by wiring issues but began entering service in December 2025, with a full phased roll-out running through 2026 to replace Class 180 and 222 fleets on the Midland Main Line.

Key History and Development of Class 810s:
Order & Purpose: In August 2019, EMR placed a £400 million order for 33 five-car, bi-mode (diesel and electric) units to upgrade services between London St Pancras, Sheffield, Nottingham, and Derby.
Production: Constructed by Hitachi at Newton Aycliffe, featuring 24-meter-long aluminum bodies to fit into existing platforms.
Delays: The fleet was initially expected to enter service in 2022. However, this was delayed due to "thermal events" in the wiring, necessitating extensive rewiring of the first 12 sets.
Testing & Service: Following extensive testing and delays, the first units began passenger service in December 2025. The fully phased rollout of all 33 sets is expected to be completed by December 2026.
Designation: The fleet is branded as 'Aurora'.
