Coming back it took me longer than coming back from Tenerife , I got the 06:49 Liverpool Lime Street to Norwich Thorpe.
158862, this should of been two 158, making a four coach train, but only used one, may be shore of 158's ?
I was on the same train, from Liverpool to Norwich, but as they used another train to run from Nottingham Midland station to Norwich Thorpe, then for us from Liverpool and other side of Nottingham, it was cancelled, from Nottingham it did run.
So when my train service got to Nottingham Midland, it changed to 11:39 Nottingham Midland to Norwich Thorpe, this was still 158862 DMU, I stayed on, but the staff was told they was coming on platform 1, and customers need to go to platform 7C, but it came into platform 7C.
So everyone got off, then got back on again, if they was going more than Nottingham.
158862 started off.
1. 06:49 Liverpool Lime Street to Norwich Thorpe due 12:14.
....Delayed by overrunning engineering work at Core & Totley railway station, and some other trains, so stuck at Grindleford railway station, which was good, as some people walk around the station, smoking on the platforms, etc, was there for over a hour or so?
Left Grindleford at 10:00.
Next stop Dore & Totley station, never stop here before, but all year, there has been work going on here, and around this area.
195022 was past, it seem to be waiting?
2. 158862 was cancelled as 1L06, on platform 4C to form -
...1Z08 11:49 Nottingham Midland to Norwich Thorpe.
...This would of been the 08:51 Liverpool Lime Street to Norwich Thorpe, but it was cancelled for the Sheffield station stop, and then at Nottingham Midland (platform 1C planned), might of been used for the next service?
3. platform 5B arrived at 14:26. 1Z08.
....1R78 14:56 Norwich Thorpe to Liverpool Lime Street.
So it got a bit complex with all the swapping around, for me, it felt like the same train service that I started from Liverpool on, to Norwich, just took a lot longer, because of the delays.
Did they need to make changes, well may be help with crew, routes planning, and other reasons, that I have not thought about, just more easy, may be.
Still when you a customer, not good, sadly, and over two hours late at Norwich.
I think, even if it did not affect my train much, when going to Liverpool on Monday, there was some delays because of overheads proems, it did delay it a few minutes, but nothing to notice much, well for me.
As the Norwich to Liverpool route, cross many other routes, plus Norwich and Liverpool are far from East Midlands Railways stations, then there is more problems.
Today it was a station upgrade that been going on for months.
