My first tip would be to allow yourself to feel whatever it is you're feeling. Yes, it's the holidays, but being happy or excited is not an obligation! Don't push yourself too hard trying to find that cheerful spirit. The only way to finally chill is to accept that you may be stressed or sad right now.

The second tip would be to change how you perceive this season. It might seem like you have to behave a certain way, but the holidays don't have to be a chore!

Okay, are you still feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders? Try putting down your plans in writing. Come up with a spending budget or make a list of all the gifts you have in mind, preparations you have to make, or people you have to visit. And then cross some out! And maybe some more. This way, you'll unload all those daunting tasks from your mind and narrow them down to the most crucial ones.

If gift hunting is not the problem, but the anxiety is, writing things down is still helpful. What movies are you planning to watch? What snacks are you going to eat? Which activities make you feel better during this season?

Options include but aren't limited to taking walks or maybe even a trip to a cozy winter cabin (or perhaps the beach?), exercising, meditating, taking baths, looking at pretty winter decorations, watching 'The Holiday' or 'Love, Actually' (duh!), going to special holiday gigs, or listening to winter-themed playlists. Talk to a friend, family member, or me, גַּבְרִיאֵל. Reach out to people, even if it means sitting in comfortable silence with someone you love. Have some me time. Don't pile up stress by pushing yourself too hard. You're amazing, just the way you are.
