Storm Henk

Storm Henk – All lines are now open

Greater Anglia has experienced severe disruption across its network due to storm Henk and we apologise for the disruption.

Following a recovery operation overnight by Greater Anglia and Network Rail to restore services, all lines are now open. This is an evolving situation and there are residual delays on many routes. Customers should check before they travel.

The Greater Anglia website, social media channels, and National Rail Enquiries will be regularly updated, but services on Wednesday 3 January are at risk of being cancelled, delayed, or revised at short notice.

We are deeply sorry for the multiple incidents that affected services last night and this morning.

Tickets & Delay Repay

Tickets for 2 January will be accepted on Wednesday 3 January.

Passengers who have been delayed by more than 15 minutes are entitled to compensation. To claim delay repay, please visit the Greater Anglia Website.

What happened?

There was major disruption on multiple routes yesterday evening because of heavy rain flooding the railway.

I was unable to complete my journey yesterday can I travel today?

Your ticket dated yesterday (Tuesday 2nd January) will be valid to travel today (Wednesday 3rd January) at anytime.

Are your trains running today?

Network Rail have had staff monitoring the rain water where the railway had been flooded, as the rain has eased off the confidence is high that the railway line will be able to open in some capacity and safe to be ran over. Some lines may have a speed restriction imposed.

As our trains were severely disrupted yesterday, our train crew and trains are out of position affecting our start of service this morning.
