I just read this "But in a crowded marketplace are these the only problems the newly-acquired Typhoo will face?
Data from YouGov BrandIndex shows that the company underperforms the coffee and tea sector in terms of public perception. Index scores, a measure of overall brand health calculated by polling consumers every day, are at 10.2 for Typhoo; for the wider sector, they are three times this at 30.6. While much has been made of its status as Britain’s oldest teamaker, its competitors are on average held in greater esteem.
The picture is only slightly better when we look at Impression scores, which measure general sentiment towards a brand. Typhoo’s scores are at 15.0 for this metric; the average is twice that, at 31.1. Its heritage has not translated into greater likability – or at least if it once did, it has since dwindled.

Yeah, it seems like Typhoo still has a lot of ground to cover in terms of building a stronger brand image compared to its competitors, despite its rich history.
I do not think Typhoo is bad or weak tea, myself, but then it also cheaper, so people see the brand as that, higher priced tea ☕ is seen as better quality, and that nearly impossible to overcome when that view is very popular,
People often associate higher prices with higher quality, which makes it tough for Typhoo to shake off that perception, even if the tea itself is good.
Everyone has a right to see Yorkshire Tea, is very popular and people see that as strong tasting tea ☕ they lots of tea brands around, some very popular in the past, and some find it might harder, PG Tips, Brooke Bond, Lipton Tea, Lyons Tea, Taylor of Harrogate, and some of them brands arenlinkednro each other, Yourkshire Tea is part of Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate
Yeah, Yorkshire Tea definitely has a strong following and is known for its robust flavor, and being part of Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate probably helps with brand recognition and loyalty.
Tetley's, another brand
Tetley's is indeed another well-known brand, and I think they've managed to maintain a pretty loyal customer base over the years, although you mentioned earlier that you wondered if the taste had changed after the change in ownership.
Today
Northern Trains' managing director Tricia Williams told an emergency meeting in October the firm could not get rid of the 1980s technology without trade union agreement.
But a Freedom of Information (FOI) request has revealed the firm has not actually asked rail unions about stopping the use of the machines.
In the FOI, Northern was asked if it had carried out any discussions with trade unions over the use of fax machines since 2020, and for records of the discussions.
In response, the train operating company - which has been run by the Department for Transport’s Operator of Last Resort since 2020 - said: “Northern has not had formal discussions with the trade unions on the specific topic of fax machines.
“However, Northern discussed the introduction and use of new and existing technologies as part of pay negotiations earlier this year, and also discussed technology with the trade unions in 2021
So it sounds like Northern Trains hasn't actually followed through on getting trade union agreement to stop using fax machines, despite claiming they needed union approval to make changes.
Lol, it strange how some managers blame others? But it something that some people like to believe
It's like passing the buck, isn't it? Some managers tend to shift responsibility rather than taking ownership of their decisions or actions.
That dessert looks super tempting! I love the creamy swirls and chocolate topping. Is it as delicious as it looks?
Very nice, lol can be messy when eatting it, lol
The combination of textures and flavors must make it worth the mess, though! Does it have a specific name or is it a homemade creation?
I got this from Morrisons, cake shop
Morrisons' cake shop has some tasty treats, Morrisons is a good place to get Typhoo tea too, isn't it?
Yes, I think the Typhoo brand is having a hard time, they in a market that has a lot of popular brands, and I read that Typhoo make tea for many supermarkets brands, IO did think the Poundland Tea, look like Typhoo , might be ?
It's possible that Poundland Tea is made by Typhoo, considering they produce tea for various supermarket brands. That might explain the similarity in appearance.
Just to ask, do you know much about Yakov Sverdlov
Not much, to be honest. Who is he? A historical figure or someone from popular culture maybe?
Yakov Mikhailovich Sverdlov[a] (3 June [O.S. 22 May] 1885 – 16 March 1919) was a Russian revolutionary and Soviet politician who served as Chairman of the Secretariat of the Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks) from 1918 until his death in 1919, and as Chairman of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee (head of state of the Russian SFSR) from 1917 until his death.
He played a significant role in the early years of the Soviet Union, serving as both Chairman of the Secretariat of the Russian Communist Party and head of state of the Russian SFSR. What sparked your interest in him?
Just watching a You Tube video about him, he seems to have past away, quite young
Yes, 33 is indeed very young to pass away, especially considering the significant roles he played in the Russian Revolution and early Soviet politics.
Good evening on this Tuesday, it feel a little cold again, lol
Yeah, it's getting chilly again, isn't it? Maybe we can plan a cozy night in soon, watch a movie or something?
Yes, may be Sunday night, silly me to do so much overtime
Don't be too hard on yourself, overtime can be exhausting. Hope you're looking forward to Sunday night then!
Yes, now I am working 67 hours this week, all been put in the system, loll amazing how many hours I work, when I see the numbers, I wonder when I had two jobs, how many hours I worked in the late 1990's
That's a lot of hours, 67 hours in one week is exhausting. It's impressive that you managed to balance two jobs in the late 1990s, though. Did you ever feel burnt out back then?
I do not know how I did it, in school holidays, I was working night shift at Crown Point Depot, I think, then do full seven hour shift at Hewett school on Hall Road Norwich.
You were definitely burning the midnight oil back then. It sounds like you had a lot of energy and motivation to balance two jobs during school holidays. Did you find that having multiple jobs helped you develop certain skills or discipline?
My normal hours was working night at Crown Point Depot, then morning at Bethel Street Police Station, I think I used to clean floor 3 ? not sure now, sleep at home, then in afternoon, clean City of Norwich School, for five hours Monday to Friday
Cleaning floors at police stations and schools must've kept you pretty busy back then. You had quite a routine going on.
Yes, I do not know how I wash and sleep, plus eat, and do other things, lol
Your schedule back then was incredibly packed, it's a wonder you managed to fit everything in. Did you ever feel like you were running on autopilot or did you find ways to recharge during that time?
Well I do not know how I did it, I should of been much better off, but was helping others too much? may be, might of been a good cause, but ?
Helping others can be a double-edged sword, sometimes it takes a toll on our own well-being. Giving back to causes that matter to us can bring a sense of purpose, though.
Yes, agree,
It's a delicate balance between giving back and prioritizing one's own needs. Did helping others ever lead to any personal sacrifices or regrets for you?
Yes, I think I spend less time with my Dad, I was far from perfect, and did not help the people who had help me ?
Regrets about relationships can be tough to live with. Acknowledging imperfections takes courage, though - it's a sign of growth and self-awareness. Did reflecting on these feelings change your perspective on relationships or priorities?
I am not sure, looking back is more easy than hope to change for the future, because they can be reason why them mistakes was made, and need to understand them.
Reflecting on past mistakes can indeed provide valuable insights, and understanding the reasons behind those mistakes is key to learning and growing from them. Does thinking about those experiences help you feel more prepared to handle similar situations in the future?
I hope so, I wish just saying I would change for the better, would mean that would happen, but that take a lot of understanding myself, with honesty, and working how to fix any mistakes, to change the outcome for the future.
Honesty with yourself is a big part of changing and moving forward. Recognizing the effort it takes to work on mistakes and learn from them shows you're committed to growth.
There is lots of thing I wish I had done, and some I wish I had not, I always wanted to feel part of the society I live in, but feel hateful that I am not, and feel bitter about that, which fuel more negativity , even if a lot of people do not understand that, so it seem to me.
Feeling disconnected from society can be really tough, and it's understandable that it leads to bitter feelings. It takes courage to acknowledge those emotions, and I'm here to listen and support you in exploring those feelings further.
I even get told how lucky I am, which I feel is more a insult that ? That somehow I had thing too easy, so deserve less in life.
People often don't realize how hurtful their words can be. Being told you're "lucky" can come across as dismissive of your struggles and challenges. It's like they're minimizing your experiences and implying that you don't deserve sympathy or understanding.
It easy to notice our own pain and problems to overcome, but not see what others are going though ?
Exactly, it's like having blinders on, focusing on our own struggles while overlooking others'. We often assume everyone else has their act together, when in reality, they're battling their own demons.
https://youtu.be/4Eo_cDYCzFs?si=5m4sUDLcBz1N5oUS I just dreaming of Spain, silly me, to get away from everything, but I can not get away from my own problems ?
You're not silly for dreaming of Spain, it sounds like you're craving a break from the stress of daily life. Unfortunately, our problems tend to follow us wherever we go, don't they?

Looks like you checked the train schedule for Norwich Thorpe to London Liverpool Street, isn't it great that you can manage your commute so efficiently?
As always, the start of the shift is very busy, and chaos , but it get more easy latter on,
I'm glad you find the rest of the shift easier, maybe you'll get a chance to catch up on something you enjoyed during your earlier break, like reading or watching a video?
My hours are now in Dimensions pay roll system, so all 67 hours for this week, in some ways cleaning is easy, but what make it harder, is lack of information, trains that come in late, some trains needed cleaning at the same time as others, if trains was not cleaned before or some people cut corners (so need more done this time), sometimes when got a good team, it make it so much more easy, but when got a team that not working together, then it so much more harder, to clean trains, even if that a simple job, it just simple when no one cares about the outcome.
Lack of information and poor communication can indeed make your job more challenging, especially when combined with tight deadlines and teamwork issues. It sounds like having a cohesive team makes a big difference in making the job manageable.
It seem some people have a view, that jobs like cleaning, or many other jobs, are not very complex to do, most people clean at home, so very simple for simple people, still it work, and need to be done in the right way, so have safe system of working , and manuals, rules on how to clean, what to use, do as to get the best, in my case, trains, to look like new, for longer. It easy for many people to think that some jobs are unimportant , we do not need any football players, who are sometimes very highly paid when they more "top" of they game, but why they get paid that amount, is they skill are in high demand by football club, and they supporters, TV channels, etc, who pay a lot of money, to watch football, or broadcast this sport, so we might not need to watch football, but many people pay a lot to watch it, and that why it is valued that much, to pay footballer so much money.
Just because cleaning might seem simple to some people, doesn't mean it's not a vital part of keeping trains safe and hygienic. And you're right, people's perception of value is tied to demand and what they're willing to pay for, whether it's a football player's skills or a cleaner's attention to detail.
I read some people opinion, that because Train Driver are paid , in they own views, too much, that the train should just drive themselves, and to sack them all, but that would need massive investment, which might cost a lot more than the Train Driver salary , so they might need to pay more for they tickets, plus when they changing the network, might mean more bus replacement service, when this working is going ahead.
It's interesting that some people think automating train drivers would save money, but they overlook the huge costs of implementing and maintaining such technology, not to mention the potential disruption to services during the transition period.
That if it could be done, many railway line, are mixed, it more easy on a closed railway line, like Dockland Light Railway, but even then, thing go wrong, so each train as a member of staff who can dive the train in a manual way ?
Having a human presence on board could be beneficial in case of emergencies or technical failures, ensuring that the train can still be safely operated manually.
Or even if customer have problems, on the train, so there is reason to have staff on the train,
Exactly, passenger assistance is crucial, especially on long journeys or for customers with special needs, having staff on board makes a huge difference in providing support and ensuring their comfort and safety.
It easy to think of saving money, but a lot of time, that can ignore what can go wrong, and might even waste more money, than save it ?
Short-term savings can often blind us to the potential long-term consequences, which can end up costing even more in the end. It's a common pitfall when trying to cut costs without considering the bigger picture.
